Guitar Lesson: Fast Car – Tracy Chapman – How to play intro&Verse&Chorus

Welcome to another guitar lesson to learn how to play Fast Car by Tracy Chapman with this online instructional youtube video. The whole song is covered in this lesson. If you use the annotations it is possible to skip certain parts which is handy for those who learn fast. I’ve also changed some things in the presentation of the video like split screen to show left and right hand more clearly and bigger chord diagrams during the explanation of chords. Hopefully these things make it easier to view these vids also on your blackberry, iphone, or other smart-devices. Enjoy this all-time guitar classic! @timm3ad yeah, I forgot to mention it in the lesson so put it in the annotations, however I found out that some mobile devices don’t? show annotations… But if you want to play along with it (cd) then you will need capo in second position

    capo on second? or….

Yeh the lyrics thing isn’t a must its just nice to have or to sing it as you play it, all though I appreciate not all guitar players can sing, I know I? can’t lol. But I think playing whole parts together at the correct speed is something that is very helpful for getting the feeling of the song right.

@iEditStuf thanks for the advice, I will try to implement those things in future tutorials. don’t know If i can do the lyric thing but will at least play whole parts together. Making these tutorials is not? that easy to me, I always seem to forgot one thing or another… but… I’m still trying to improve them…

Nice tutorial but would be much nicer you played whole parts together at the end, like after you’ve explained the chorus, actually play it through at the right speed. Also just mentioning whats lyrics are around? each chord change is always nice.
